Fertrell: Poultry Nutri-Balancer & Breeder Show Powder are in sealed foil bags and can be shipped via UPS or USPS to anywhere in the Lower 48. Shipping cost will apply depending on current carrier policies. Please email for a quote or questions. All other Fertrell Products are Pick-up only.

Local pickup - Defined as store pickup, whether that occurs at our store location or at the scheduled courtesy drop-off sites. Transactions at these sites are free from added delivery fees surcharges, with the exception of bulk feed orders weighing over 500lbs.

Home/Farm deliveries - See Delivery Services in our Store Policy

Live Poultry: At this time all live poultry are Local Pick-Up only. For those transporting chicks a longer distance from our store, it is highly recommended to bring a small functioning brooder, such as a small box with a heating pad or hot pack wrapped in a towel.

Hatching Eggs: We want your eggs to hatch as much as you! All care will be taken in the packaging of them, and the box appropriately labeled as "Do Not X-Ray," "Fragile" and "Hatching Eggs." However, shipping is inherently hard on eggs, and the germinal disc is delicate. Even without breakage of the shell, the egg's contents can potentially be internally "scrambled."  By purchasing eggs from us, you accept that no returns are accepted, as hatching egg viability expires after 10 days from lay, even if your hatch rate is very low or even none at all. We cannot account for how the eggs are handled once USPS receives them, nor can we account for the incubation practices of the receiver, which are critical for hatching success.

Please base any reviews or comments (good and bad), on the quality of the eggs themselves and the care taken in packaging them to survive shipment. Our Hatching Eggs are insured through USPS, and claims for damaged or broken eggs must be filed with them.

TIPS FOR EGG CARE:

1. It is highly advisable to open your package at the post office immediately to determine any damages from shipment in order to file a claim to USPS for broken or cracked eggs.

2. It is important to "rest" shipped eggs for 6-12 hours before incubation (Large end UP) to acclimate them to ambient temperature and allow for the air sack to settle in the large end of the egg if it has migrated. This step is essential for determining hatchability for shipped eggs. Upon candling after this resting period, eggs with air sacks that appear "U" shaped, or are larger than 1/3 the total egg space before incubation, or which don't migrate to the large end of the egg before incubation should be considered unviable and discarded.  These air sack conditions are the result of "internal scrambling," caused by excessively rough handling during shipping.

Return Policy

FEEDS:  Due to the sensitive requirements for storing fresh milled feed (away from sunlight and excessive heat), and the bio security protocols at our residence, returns are not accepted. However, if you are dissatisfied with our feed for any reason, please reach out to us before doing anything rash in your reviews. We are a small family owed business who stands by our products quality, and we will do our best to make things right! Refunds or exchanges are at the sole digression of our staff, and will be considered on a case by case basis based on the circumstances.

FERTRELL: We are open and honest with the information we have on Fertrell products, the manufacture date and care we have taken to preserve the products sold to you. If there are any issues with the product itself, we would love to hear your feedback, however complaints or grievances would need to be filed with the manufacturer directly by you to resolve your issue.

LIVE POULTRY:

Due to strict bio-security policy that protects the health of our birds, no returns are allowed live poultry, except in the circumstance of accidental, unwanted day-old rooster chicks in a pullet-only order. This is limited to chicks before they reach 8 weeks old, and payable only after our either receiving emailed photographic/video evidence of the chick's gender (prominent red comb/waddle compared to the pullets, presence of sickle feathers, or crowing behaviors). Also acceptable is photographic evidence of the carcass, in such a manner that its gender can be readily identified. Day old chicks sold as "guaranteed pullets" are sex-linked, which are 99.99% discernible at birth by their color, so a mix-up is extremely unlikely. However, chicks labeled as "Straight Run" have equal chance of being male or female, as they are too young to be discernable. It is advised for you to have a plan for extra roosters in this case, as NO returns will be accepted for male chicks in a "straight run" order. If you experience a chick death/loss within 48hrs of purchase, please reach out to us. We are more than happy to advise new chicken owners in the care and maintenance of chicks, and any consideration of refund is at our sole digression and requires proof of the circumstances of the loss being preventable by our store. Failure to properly care for your chicks is not an eligible reason for consideration. By purchasing poultry from us, you accept our return and refund policy in this manner.

HATCHING EGGS:

Hatching Eggs: Hatching Eggs may be picked up either from our store or one of our local scheduled drop sites. We can also ship your eggs through USPS and shipping rates apply, SEE SHIPPING POLICY. If you live within 300 miles of our store, eggs are pick-up only. Fertility is closely monitored in our flock and is usually over 97.5%.  Our eggs, are fresh and unwashed to optimize hatchability. Hatching eggs are not intended for human consumption. No returns, exchanges, or refunds can be accepted for hatching eggs, as the vast majority of development and hatch rate depends on proper incubation practices. If you are dissatisfied with your hatch rate, please reach out. We can educate or work with you to find a solution if possible, but all sale are final and replacement of eggs is at our sole discretion.
